I'm definitely puzzled by VDSM continuing to be a set staple 13 years later since it wasn't a hit or anything and I've never seen anyone express any particular appreciation for it.
Just Art being stubborn since he thought it'd be a hit?

Re: June 30th, Jimmy Kimmel
I gotta say, that's the best I've heard Art's voice sound in a live clip in YEARS.

Re: BLACK IS THE NEW BLACK
Listened to the new album a couple times on Spotify. Can't really remember how much of it goes. As for rankings: 1. Sparkle and Fade 2. LHTS/Afterglow 3. World of Noise 4. Drama Club 5. GTFABA 6. SMD 7. Invisible Stars 8. BITNB I actually like Drama Club a lot. I like that he isn't trying to sound l...

Re: American Monster released!
This gives Jesus Was A Democrat some serious competition for all time worst Everclear song.
Glad some people like it though. I hope it's successful for them. I've got the sinking feeling this album won't have much for me though.

Re: Sparkle & Fade Tour
I wonder how all the songs will sound tuned a full step down? Kind of wish they would just play standard tuning and let art sing as he is. Music would sound the same - Singing is what it is at this point, which I am fine with - it is 20 years later after all. It's almost a certainty it'll all be a ...

Re: Sparkle & Fade Tour
I don't know, I don't think Everclear would ever want to put out new recordings of old songs.yourstupidgame wrote:It would be even better if they recorded it professionally and put it out themselves.

Re: The Man Who Broke His Own Heart lyric video
The music sounds okay, and I have been a fan of the lyrics since I heard it, but they don't really go together. I was really hoping for an acoustic version. I also hope that they come out with another music video. Right? I really feel like the quieter stuff suits Art's shredded voice better. I want...

Re: The Man Who Broke His Own Heart lyric video
Sounds like a Puddle of Mudd b-side. :( I did like the acoustic bootleg we've had for years and years. It's a decent song at it's core. Not feeling this arrangement or recording at all though. Hopefully the rest of the album is better. I feel like nu-wave-Everclear works best a little mellower, I pr...

Awesome that he played Thrift Store Chair, always considered that an all time top tier Everclear song.

Re: Art Alexakis himself reminisces on Everclear’s S & F
Do you still keep in touch with [former guitarist] Craig [Montoya] and [former drummer] Greg [Eklund] at all? No. I mean, they deserved it… they were there at the right time, man. They did what they were supposed to do. They didn’t write those songs, but they played on those songs and they did a gr...

Re: Studio version 'Man Who Broke His Own Heart'
I know auto-tune is to be expected on any major release these days but they really over-did it, sounds almost as bad as the return to santa monica tracks. :( I'll cut Art some slack because I know the vocal chord damage he's sustained is largely out of his control but I'd be more interested in heari...

Re: Finally: The Man Who Broke His Own Heart
Jesus Was A Democrat is far and away the worst thing Art has ever written. Volvo Driving Soccer Mom seems subtle and thoughtful in comparison. I'd put Jesus Was a Democrat in the top 50th percentile of Everclear Songs. Not every piece has to be subtle Not every piece has to be subtle but every piec...

Re: Summerland 2014 Reviews / Setlists / Discussion
Which is really telling about how few hardcore fans are left. They're a nostalgia act now so maybe like one in a hundred people at these shows would be excited about the new song.
I just wanna hear the new song.
