I'm not new....

Post by heartspark4ec » Tue Aug 01, 2006 5:11 pm

But I was gone for an extended amount of time (about a year?) and it looks like there are a lot of new people on here. I'm going through reading the intros from new people so I can know a little bit about them, and I thought I would post an update/intro on me so as to get to know each other better!

My name is Melissa. I go by several nicknames (meli, melikins, sa, lis, o-chan....which you should NOT ask about, page, etc.) so feel free to call me whatever you like! I turned 20 this past month. It was a totaly blast of a birthday. I went and saw Pirates of the Caribbean 2, and I played laser tag and rode go-karts with my best friend, her boyfriend, and my ex.

I live in Iowa. Quad Cities area to be exact, so I'm reeeeeeeeaaaaaally close to the mississippi river. But this fall I will be going to the University of Northern Iowa, and will be living in the dorms there. I'm majoring in education, and getting my minor as a lIbrary media specialist, because I would love to work in an elementary school library some day (que weird looks now). I've worked in public and academic libraries the past 3 years, and it was awesome (and GOOD PAY)! I believe in the flying spaghetti monster. Ooh Ooh, and I preach the goodness (or badness you might say) of Snakes on a Plane.

I love all kinds of music. I'm a big music kind of person. I love art as well (not just mr alexakis  ). I'm a fan of all types of body modification. I have four tattoos (10 if you demand to call my stars individual tatts, like SOME people do) and 12 piercings. No worries, 11 of those piercings are in my ears. The 12th one? well... it's NOT in a place that could be considered a rating of PG-13 or above, but it's also not too common... i'll let you guess where it is on your own. i also like anime (you can't blame me! I took 4 years of japanese, it was going to happen). I like movies too. And staying out til 3 or 4 in the morning in random restaurants, drinking coffee, playing rummy, and chatting. Oooh ooh, and I love live theatre.

I have a cat named lydia (after the girl in beetlejuice). She's 2 years old and is a grey tabbyish breed. I got her during a stressful time in my life, and having her to take care of REALLY helped out. So now she's my pride and joy. I also have a siamese named Imoen (my sister likes baldur's gate 2... A LOT), a beagle mix (Duchess) a border collie mix (Buster) and 2 betta fish (Nathaniel and Elizabeth.)

I think that about covers it. I'm really glad to meet all the new people, and be back with the the old people. I think that covers it. Any questions, just ask!

Much Love,
Melissa

Hey hey. How the devil are you? I recall that you were one of the first people to talk to me on this little green corner of the internet, back in the halcyon days of yore, before things got a little, um, moribund. Anyway, I appear here less frequently now (I’ve been engaged in a secret project with Korean scientists: Tron is more than just a pipe dream), but I always enjoyed exchanging fatuities with you and I’m glad that you haven’t been abducted by clowns, or mortally wounded in a cow-tipping disaster, or anything.

well Mr. Vaughan... i'm doing good. alllllmost ready for school. I've been lurking in libraries shushing people all librarian like. That and getting paid to do whatever the hell I pleased. And i'm in the middle of waging war against the person who decided, "heeeeey... let's make a live action transformers movie!" NEVER TOUCH THE ORIGINAL!

Stupid Happy, thanks! I'm so glad to be back. It's good to have everclear fans to talk to again. YATTA!

At last, a war with some justification. We can’t just sit back idly while Michael Bay sodomises our childhood memories.

haha, sorry. Normally if I add people, I'm sure to say something to them right away. But long days of packing + hardcore kick-my-ass allergy medication apparently make me fall asleep while working on my laptop. Hope you don't mind that I added you.
