That's cool... I guess. But they're probably going to play Hater so I don't know how to feel about this.

I like "Hater", and I like the Tonight Show (because Letterman seems like he's not trying anymore), so this is good news for me. Looking forward to it!

yeah, bands usually only play their upcoming single on those night shows... SNL is the only one where you get 2. But if you are RHCP, you play your single and Give it Away... that rocked.

My DVR is set.

I think we should all just be happy that they're back to doing appearances like this. I'm sure if they do Leno that Conan, Letterman, Carson Daly and others will be sure to follow.

true, in the end some publicity is better than none.

From MySpace bulletin . . .

hey everybody!
we are playing the tonight show for the umpteeth time
to support our radio campaign for "hater"
which goes to alt radio on july 17th
i hear the main guest is will ferrell
so it should be fun!

art

This is GREAT publicity! A lot of those people who thought EC was gone, done, etc., can see that they're back. And I think the pop sound of this song will fit very well with the late night show demographic. This is definately a good thing IMO, no matter what song they play (though I love Hater and I think it's a good song to play on these appearances.)
