New Unreleased track

Post by SmashingClear » Thu Jan 17, 2008 7:07 pm

another new song to complain about on their myspace. It called Here comes the Darkness. It's different. Nothing really like the other songs on Wecome to the Drama Club. I like it.

Goodie Goodie.

Thanks croag. I can't seem to get my sound card to capture anything playing through it. If anyone could lend a hand with that (links etc) I'd really appriciate it.

very good song, but... the lyrics??

can someone post the lyrics please... i can't understand mostly anything but "here comes the darkness again" :?

i personally agree that saying the same phrase or word again and again (like "Downtime") seems like lack of lyrics, but it can also make a song catchy and easy to sing.

I liked how they measured the use of the keyboard this time!!! now i can really hear art's voice haha

good song for me

I like this song a lot. You can hear the saddness in his voice :(

When I read what Art said WTTDC would sound like... this is what I was hoping for.

much better than "Downtime" -- by a long shot. it sounds more like a song written for either volume of SFAAM, to me, though -- i guess because of the harmonies at the start of the song. the beginning reminded me of "Here Comes the Sun King" by the Beatles, and any time Art reminds me of anything Beatles-related, it's a good thing.

very dark song (no pun intended), and it pwns the HELL out of downtime.....
very very very cool cool

and best of all... ART SAYS HE HAS NO ONE TO BLAME BUT HIMSELF......
bout time....... no more ex-wife drama :)

art should never have put hater on WTTDC and put this song in its place, would have made it a much stronger album....

track listing should've been:

1- Underneath The Western Stars
2- Now
3- Shine
4- Here Comes The Darkness
5- The Drama King
6- Glorious
7- Portland Rain
8- Clean
9- Broken
10- You're Arizona Room

that would've been really cool....

This is an excellent song. Simple yet powerful and effective, which is usually the best formula. Beats the hell out of Downtime in my opinion, it has more feeling and seems more personal.

you put your finger on the exact reason why I liked it. where Art bores me is when he starts in with that pity-party bullshit about "oh, women are so mean to me, my life sucks because she was a bitch," blah blah, his songs sound more like they're written by an inexperienced 14-year-old who just got his heart broken for the first time. The lyrics in this song are about accountability, which is much harder to deal with than lashing out and whining about everything. in other words, these lyrics have more soul, more soul-searching and more meaning than "hater" or "downtime" combined. i'm okay if i never hear another song Art writes again about how mean people are, but i'll be the first in line to buy something with more heart and introspection, like this song, and songs like it (Glorious comes to mind).

enjoying something that doesn't sound like it took twenty minutes for Art to poop out gives me hope that he hasn't lost his creative mojo. here's hoping, anyway.

Here comes the darkness again
Think im gonna spend some time in hell
Here comes the darkness again
I got no one to balme but myself

Here comes the darkness again
Thought a couple of drinks might help me forget
Here comes the darkness again
I got no one to balme but myself

Everybody says i'm wasting my time
I sit and listen to rejection on the telephone line
Everybody says the pain is gonna slowly fade
Yeah I tell them on a really good day
I can see the light
But its so far away

Here comes the darkness again
Thought another pretty girl could help me forget

Here comes the darkness again
I got no one to balme but myself
Here comes the darkness again
Gonna spend some time in hell with my friends
Here comes the darkness again
I got no one to balme but myself
I got no one to balme but myself

Everybody says i'm living in denial
Yeah, I tell em that this is the only way I could cope
Everybody says i'm living in fear of the future
Yeah, Yeah Yeah
Yeah, I tell them that my fear goes hand in hand with my hope
Oh
On a really good day, I can see the light
But it's so far away

Here comes the darkness again
Theres a light at the end of the tunnel
I can see it burning super bright and strong
I can see light, its shining at the end of the tunnel
Sometimes I think this tunnel is a million miles long

On a really good day, I can see the light
But it's so God Damn far away

Here comes the darkness again
Oh whoah oh!
Here comes the darkness again
Oh whoah oh!
Here comes the darkness again
Oh whoah oh!
Here comes the darkness again
Oh whoa Oh!

Here comes the darkness again
guess im gonna spend some time in hell
I got no one to balme but myself
I got no one to blame but myself

I think thats pretty much 100% right. I listened pretty close, about 4 times to make sure ;)

I love this song! Sounds alot like SFAAM
Man..... I really need na better Sig.

So this is the first thing I've heard in quite a while that made me think, maybe Art shouldn't retire.

If only he could write about something else.
