Enjoy! I actually do not recognize Art's voice on "Western Edition"

Wow, great find! I just listened to all of that tracks, I loved hearing the early version, especially Santa Monica; I don't think I've ever hear a version earlier than what appeared on Sparkle & Fade. Western Edition is pretty good, too bad the quality isn't as good as This Is Your Death Song. If you listen to the harmonizing they use in the middle of the song, it definitely would have fit right in with So Much For The Afterglow sound. I'll see what I can find out about these songs, especially Western Edition. Thanks again for finding these!

These are awesome! I wonder where this guy is getting these from? I also tried to figure out how to convert youtube videos into mp3 and the thing i downloaded isnt working? can anyone help me out with instructions, or convert to mp3 if it's simple. Thanks!

I'll get to work on converting the YouTube videos to MP3 and post them on the site like I did with This Is Your Death Song.

There is no way that Art sings on Western Edition
that can't be Art . Maybe Greg ? or some other dude :S
but that can't be Art his voice doesn't sound anywhere near that .

I think your right, I'll bet it is Greg, he had some filters on his voice for The Honeymoon Song and What Do I get, and since this is a demo they probably didn't do any vocal effects.

They debated just leaving it as an instrumental (this session was really nothing for nothing; Capitol didn't need it and the guys didn't want to do it). Art's guitar tech at the time (I'm blanking; I think his name was Brian) had heard the song during rehearsals and offered to lay down the vocals. I think he was trying to do his best imitation. As you know, they tried to record this song again during the Afterglow sessions, but I think they figured it wasn't right for the album. I'm not sure why it didn't make either of the Volume's; maybe it was too old by that point.

The first and third question mark sound like they're saying April.

OK, I got a little more information on the demo and Western Edition, it was a demo recorded solely for the purpose of the annual Hungry & Hollow April Fools prank.
