You suffer from depression, it don't mean that you're sad.

I'm watching this now and came here to see if anyone else saw it yet. I like the arrangement. I don't think I ever heard the full band version, so I don't know how it differs. I just know the acoustic solo version. Very rockin! Heavy guitars. Reminds me of "Your New Disease."

Also, I just remembered that I heard Art singing this song on the fall 2012 tour in soundcheck. I'm not sure if I had mentioned that before.

Aside from a few minor lyrical changes it's the same as the acoustic version that's been floating around for years, same Em C G Asus progression, although probably tuned a step down as usual.

I liked it though, rocking, little solo, even Art had a little fire behind it. I doubt we will get any other new songs this tour cause the sets are so short, I'd love to hear "Jesus was a democrat"

I was hoping that song was banished to the depths of hell.

I don't understand the hatred for that song, there is allot worse songs like "Volvo driving soccer mom" & "Hater". Jesus was a democrat rocks, although some may not like it lyrically, musically it's pretty rocking for a everclear song.

Jesus Was A Democrat is far and away the worst thing Art has ever written. Volvo Driving Soccer Mom seems subtle and thoughtful in comparison.

Does anybody still have the other live copies of this song from '05? Other than the solo acoustic one in the downloads.

Aside from this new live version on youtube, that is the only other recording that is available

This is a great band arrangement.

I have a feeling this song is gonna sound pretty rocking on the album version, as well.
If Invisible Stars was "So Much For The Afterglow - Version 2.0" (in it's recording/writing philosophy), then the next album may very well be a revisit to "Sparkle and Fade" territory. That does seem to be more of a goal this time around.

But, I have high hopes for the next album's sound now... especially after hearing this new version of Almost Instant Karma!
Things seem to be back on track again, and thankfully, miles away from that god-awful "Return To Santa Monica" record, at least.

So, praise Jebus!... (be he a democrat, or otherwise :P)
...And let's get ready for some new tunes within the next year or so.

I'd put Jesus Was a Democrat in the top 50th percentile of Everclear Songs. Not every piece has to be subtle

It is not subtle....it comes right out and says how awful it is from the first second.

I like the music to JWAD.

I think too many people are religious and that causes unnecessary hate for JWAD. It's one of the best songs Art has written since SMDD. Fuck Jesus!

This version of AIK/TMWBHOH is pretty fucking heavy. I like it a lot!!
