• Static

Same exact take featured above but in worse quality.  (Maybe higher generation of same tape?)

Notes:  A few tapes recorded by Art Alexakis were sold off on an auction site by his first wife, Anita in the mid 90s.  This tape features an acoustic rendition of the song ‘Static’, and 2 acoustic songs never recorded in the studio, ‘Come Around’, and ‘Shaking Brave.’  ‘Come Around’ and ‘Static’ were played live with the ‘Easy Hoes’ but never officially recorded by the band.

‘La De Da’ and ‘Mr. Beauregard’ are two songs written and performed by Karl Maruyama.

‘The Laughing World’ is mentioned as ‘You Jam You Jet.’

Notes:  When Shindig Records went bankrupt, and his first marriage failed, Art went north to Portland, OR to live with his new girlfriend.  Art attempted to keep Colorfinger together while being away from the band by recording demos and sending them for the rest of the band to practice.  Many of these songs can be assumed to be jammed around by Colorfinger at one point or another.

Eric Neves recalls, “I remember Art being up in Portland we were practicing without him, he was sending the songs to us on tapes and we were rehearsing them without him, he would come down once or twice a month.” (30)

This is the only known recording of ‘George Bush Part 1: Living In The Reagan Days’ and ‘Our Weird Year.’

‘You Jam You Jet’ is a working title that would later be recorded by Everclear as ‘The Laughing World’ and features slightly different lyrics.
