New posts?

Post by LochNess » Tue Feb 22, 2005 2:53 pm

There's something I have noticed on occasion, which is that I will look at the new posts in a particular thread, and when I go back to the index, all of the threads/topics are marked as not having any new posts. Is that supposed to happen?

No, but I think it would be an issue with your cookie settings on your computer. Are you using the "View posts since last visit" link in the top right of the board on the Forum Index? I use it to save me the trouble have having to manually hunt down the new topics.

I'm not sure, but I think it may have had something to do with the URL changing from "http://www.hungryandhollow.com/boards" to "http://boards.hungryandhollow.com" when I clicked on something. Whatever, I'm not going to worry about it.

No change, both http://www.hungryandhollow.com/boards and http://boards.hungryandhollow.com, they are just different ways of requesting the same location on my site.

I'm aware of that, but when I look at my cookies, there are only ones for "boards.hungryandhollow.com".

Like I said, though, I'm not going to worry about it.

It has not happened again since I made sure I always use "boards.hungryandhollow.com", for what it's worth.

the best thing to do is what eric said: as soon as you log on click view post since last visit. and you've got all the new posts right there.
Breathin' fire doesn't look good on a resume.
