Train To Memphis In 1997, before the release of "So
Much for the Afterglow", Art Alexakis toured the country
on a Solo Acoustic tour to play some of his new songs from his
upcoming album, and also to play a few fan favorites. From his
solo tour is a crowd involved acoustic performance of "Night
Train To Memphis" which was performed on 4/9/97 in New York,
NY. Later on that year when Everclear came out to tour in support
of "So Much For The Afterglow", Art performed a rare
solo acoustic version of "Why I Don't Believe In God"
on 11/3/97 in Milwaukee, WI. Hope you enjoy them! MP3s and description provided by Alex Lousos, AKA Colorfinger Tri-Polar -

  In 2002, Art decided to
travel the country again on another Solo Acoustic tour
in mid-2002. During the tour, he played a bunch of obscure
Everclear, Colorfinger, and random covers that he hadn't
played before in years. An acoustic rendition of "Blondes"
was performed on 4/1/02 in New York, NY. Followed 2
days later with the only known performance of Merle
Haggard's "I Can't Hold Myself In Line" and
also a pretty darn good acoustic rendition of "The
Good Witch Of the North" in San Fransisco, CA.

For the MP3's of the Whenever, I have
a real treat for you all. The first known performance
of "Sex With A Movie Star", and another
live performance of the new song "Glorious."
Both songs were recorded by me on 11/3/04 in Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania to start off the new tour. MP3s and description provided by Alex Lousos, AKA Colorfinger

For This Week's MP3 of the Whenever, I'm going with 2 songs from the Good Time For A Bad
Attitude Album, Misery Whip and Babytalk. This performance
is actually the first time Babytalk is played and Greg goofs
up on it twice before they actually get it right. It's a
shame these songs weren't played after the release of Good
Time For A Bad Attitude. Both songs were performed on 1/26/01
in Park City, Utah. MP3s and description provided by Alex Lousos, AKA Colorfinger

For this week's MP3 of the Whenever, I have a real treat. Think you've heard everything
from Live From Toronto? Think again, I have 2 cover songs
that the band played that was not included on the Japanese
8 track EP. An awesome cover of "Night Moves,"
and a classic closer to the show, a cover of AC/DC's "Sin
City", with Craig on lead vocals. These songs along
with the entire Live From Toronto EP, were performed on
1/14/98. Hope you enjoy it! MP3s and description provided by Alex Lousos, AKA Colorfinger

                  Surrender
For This Week's MP3 of the Whenever,
I went with a staple closer from the Slow Motion Daydream
Tour, Surrender. A great rendition of the classic Cheap
Trick song that Art references in "Sunshine (That Acid
Summer)", I'm sure you will all enjoy. This performance
took place on 7/26/03. MP3s and description provided by Alex Lousos, AKA Colorfinger Out

the 7th anniversary of Hungry & Hollow than the return
of MP3 of the Whenever? To answer that, how about a rare performance
of one of my favorite Everclear songs, Out Of My Depth.
This song was recorded on January 26, 2001 at Harry O's
in Park City, UT. Hope you enjoy! MP3s and description provided by Alex Lousos, AKA Colorfinger

These are two new songs by
Everclear, recorded at the August 30, 2004 in Hilton Head,
SC at Monkey Business. Glorious has been talked about by
Art since 2002, and he played it a few times in 2003. However
a known full recording of the song did not exist, until
this version. Beautiful Dream is brand new, and this recording
is only the second time it has been played live. HUGE thanks
go out to jcrab66 for recording this whole show and sharing
it with the fans, as well as allowing us to post MP3 versions
of these two songs. Also a thanks to White
Lightning's Chris B, for remastering and converting

For this week's MP3 of the Whenever
I picked another song from the same show as last week's MP3.
I went with an all time favorite song of mine, The Twistinside.
This song was recorded live in concert June 4, 1998 in New
York City, NY at the Roseland. Enjoy. Sunflowers
                  Sunflowers has rarely been played
live, and when it has been played there is no known decent
quality recording of it...until now! The June 4, 1998 New
York City show has long been sought after by Everclear collectors
for it's great setlist, and the quality of the performances,
however only one, mediocare at best, recording was known to
exist. Well thanks to a conversation with White
Lightning's Chris Blackburn I realized that I, and I alone,
had been sitting on a high quality recording of this show
for a number of years. I hope everyone enjoys Sunflowers,
recorded live in concert June 4, 1998 in New York City, NY
                    at the Roseland. Speed
                  Racer
For this week's MP3 of the Whenever,
I picked Speed Racer. Since I first saw the Speed Racer cartoon
(early 1990's MTV began airing Speed Racer), I've loved the
show. So what could be better then hearing your favorite band
covering the theme song to a show that you really enjoy? This
song was recorded September 01, 2002 at the Bumbershoot Festival,
                    in Seattle, WA. Enjoy. White
                  Men In Black Suits
For this week's MP3 of the Whenever,
I decided to go with a live version of White Men In Black
Suits. Over the years, I've actually gotten a LOT of request
for a live version of this particular, however until last
month Everclear had never played the song live (or if they
have no recordings, or setlist existed). This song was recorded
September 01, 2002 at the Bumbershoot Festival, in Seattle,
                    WA. Enjoy. Volvo
                  Driving Soccer Mom
After posting the last two MP3s
of the Whenever from Everclear's recent performance in Seattle,
I received multiple request to hear the version of Volvo Driving
Soccer Mom played at the same show. This is the first time
this song was performed live by Everclear (previous versions
where only Art solo). This song was recorded September 01,
2002 at the Bumbershoot Festival, in Seattle, WA. Enjoy. Blackjack
And the new songs keep coming! Here
is another new song, that Everclear performed this weekend...the
full version of Blackjack. This song was recorded September 01,
2002 at the Bumbershoot Festival, in Seattle, WA. Enjoy.
Man, I can barely wait for the new
album, and the more I hear from it, the less I can wait! Everclear
just had their first show since finishing the album on Saturday,
and they played 3 of the new songs. The first song they played
was How To Win Friends and Influence People. Art was too far away
from his microphone so the vocals are a bit low, but musically...the
song just rocks! This song was recorded September 01, 2002 at
the Bumbershoot Festival, in Seattle, WA. Enjoy. Queen
              of the Air (live)
I randomly picked up a CD to try
and find a song for this week's MP3 and I really lucked out. As
I listened to the CD, I came across a real jewel. On this CD there
was a recording of the only known live performance of the Sparkle
& Fade song Queen of the Air. This live version of Queen of
the Air was recorded on August 14, 1996 in Hollywood, CA at Billboard
Live. I hope everyone enjoys. Local
              God (acoustic)
For this week's MP3 of the Whenever I searched
though some of the recent performances I have recordings of and
I came across an acoustic version of Local God. While the bass
levels on this recording are not to the level that I generally
like, I still think that this song is still worthy of being the
MP3 of the Whenever. This version was recorded on March 9, 2002 at
the Benson Hotel in Portland, OR. Enjoy. George
Bush Part 1 (Living in the Reagan Days)
I had a request this week for a song
off of the Art Alexakis Demography bootleg, which is full of rare
tracks recorded by Art before he was in Everclear. So, the rare
song I picked was George Bush Part 1 (Living in the Reagan Days).
The song was written in 1991, and recorded acoustically by Art
as a practice demo for the rest of Colorfinger to listen to and
practice playing with. As far as I know the song has never been
performed live by Colorfinger. I hope you all enjoy. Loser
              Makes Good
For this week's MP3 of the Whenever I'm
fufilling a request for a fan who wanted to hear a Loser Makes
Good from The Satyricon. This version was recorded in April of
1993 at Satyricon in Portland, Or. back when Scott Cuthbert was
still the band's drummer. As I have mentioned before, Loser Makes
Good is a song about the insane homeless man who shot and killed
Art's friend, Philip Bury. Bury is better known as the Pornobilly
                rocker, Buck Naked. Enjoy. Strawberry
For this week's MP3 of the Whenever I'm
fufilling a request for a fan who wanted to hear a recent live
version of the fan favorite Strawberry. This version was recorded
on July 29, 2001 at Sun Theatre in Anaheim, CA. Enjoy.
I had a request for any song from
Art's recent solo tour. So, I decided to go with a rare performance
of a song Art wrote for his daughter. This acoustic version of
Annabella's song was recorded during Art's solo tour on April
3, 2002 at Bottom of the Hill in San Francisco, CA. Enjoy!
I had a special request this week
for a rare song written by Art called Our Weird Year. The song
was written in 1991, and recorded acoustically by Art as a practice
demo for the rest of Colorfinger to listen to and practice playing
with. As far as I know the song has never been preformed live
by Colorfinger. I hope you all enjoy this rare treat. I
Will Buy You A New Life
For this week's MP3 of the Whenever I
decided to go a live version of I Will Buy You a New Life. Not
that the song has much to do with websites, but I thought it was
a good choice since the I just relaunched H&H with a new design.
This version was recorded on July 29, 2001 at Sun Theatre in Anaheim,
                CA. Enjoy.
              Amphetamine

For this week's MP3 of the Whenever I'm fufilling
a request of a fellow fan who wanted to hear a live version
of Amphetamine. This version was recorded on July 29, 2001
at Sun Theatre in Anaheim, CA. Enjoy. Speed
                RacerThe Twistinside

Well, for the first time in a VERY
long while I missed doing a week of my MP3 of the Whenever section,
so I am posting two songs for this week to make up for it. The
first MP3 is a rare live performance of the theme song to the
cartoon Speed Racer. This was recorded on August 14, 1996 at Billboard
Live in West Hollywood, CA. The second MP3 is a of a live acoustic
performance of The Twistinside and was recorded during Art's solo
tour on April 3, 2002 at Bottom of the Hill in San Francisco,
                CA. Enjoy! Here
              We Go Again
Here this week's MP3 of the Whenever, I
chose a live version of Here We Go Again. Art performed this on
his April 1, 2002 solo tour stop at the Supper Club in New York
                City, NY. Enjoy So
              Much For The Afterglow

For this week's MP3 of the Whenever I'm fufilling
a request of a fellow fan who wanted to hear a new version of
So Much For The Afterglow. This version was recorded on July
29, 2001 at Sun Theatre in Anaheim, CA. Enjoy. Volvo

This week was done a little differently then
usual. Rather then me taking a request for an MP3, someone sent
me an MP3, and I'm posting it for you. A HUGE thanks goes out
to Don, for recording this, and send it to me. Here's what Don
had to say about this week's MP3 of the Whenever: For this week's MP3 of the Whenever, I have sent in
a live version of an upcoming Everclear song, Volvo Driving
Soccer Mom. A standard in Art's 2002 Solo Tour setlist, Art
made a habit of incorporating the use of audience members to
do the backing vocals to this song. Certain lyrics have changed
from show-to-show, but the overall feel is the same. This MP3
was recorded live at the Paradise in Boston, MA on March 30,
2002. I also have the version of Art performing
                  Volvo
Driving Soccer Mom on Late World with Zach for you to
                  download. Everything
To Everyone You know what, Don sent me another MP3 and
I couldn't pass up posting it RIGHT NOW! Don kicks ass. Art
knows it, and you will too after listening to this MP3. Again,
Here is what Don had to say: Here is a live version of Everything to Everyone.
Another standard in Art's 2002 Solo Tour setlist, Art made a
habit of incorporating the use of an audience member to do the
keyboard intro to the song. I'm featured on keyboards/background
vocals here. This MP3 was recorded live at the Paradise in Boston,
MA on March 30, 2002. Nervous
              & Weird
              For this week's MP3 I thought I'd give
you all something a bit rare. I know what you are all thinking..a
live version of Nervous & Weird isn't that rare, true...but
how about a live, ACOUSTIC version of Nervous & Weird? This
version was recorded in November 15, 1995 at Cat's Paw Studios
                for WNNX's 99x Live X Acoustic. White
Lightning has a great live acoustic performance of Electra
Made Me Blind from this same recording. I suggest you check it
                out here. Heroin
              Girl
This week's MP3 of the Whenever comes from
the same 1993 demo as Deep In, Empty Out. Unlike the versions
of The Twistinside and 1975 found on this same demo, this version
of Heroin Girl sticks pretty close to the version later recorded
for album release. In fact, because of this I have been reluctant
to post this song...but I have recieve a lot of request for it,
so I am posting it. Everclear's entire 1993 demo, also known as
both the Giant Records Demo and the Deep In, Empty Out demo, is
now available on my site. 01: Heroin
