Scott Cuthbert was Everclear's drummer until he was dismissed from the band in 1994, being replaced by Greg Eklund. Scott's drumming, and even some backing vocals were used on all tracks recorded before Sparkle and Fade. While Scott was no longer a member of the band during the Sparkle & Fade era he is credited in the album for having a part in writing the music of most of the songs found on the album.

Since leaving Everclear, Scott has been teaching percussion. He has been heavily involved with Portland-area high school marching bands drum lines. He also does arranging for Portland and Oregon State's drum lines.
